US authorities identify suspect in deadly New Orleans attack
US authorities have identified the man who drove a pickup truck into crowds of people celebrating New Year's Eve in New Orleans. Ten people were killed and more than 30 wounded after the assailant, a 42-year-old American citizen from Texas, crashed into revellers before opening fire at officers and being shot dead at the scene. The FBI said an Islamic State group flag was recovered from his vehicle, suggesting that the suspect was not acting alone. David Smith, Washington bureau chief at The Guardian, joined FRANCE 24 with more of the latest details.
