US national security adviser meets Xi, top Chinese military brass in Beijing
On the last day of his visit to China, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Thursday held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping after a a rare meeting with top Chinese military official Zhang Youxia. Sullivan’s high-level meetings underscored efforts to increase military communications between the two rival powers amid tensions over Taiwan and China’s maritime operations in the South China Sea.
