British singer Craig David was trying to do a good deed by throwing a blue flying fish back in the water when disaster struck a few moments later.

David is in the Maldives, and while having dinner, a flying fish landed on the deck close by.

“This is crazy, I’m literally having dinner, and this fish comes flying out… and you’re going back in here, my friend,” said David as he threw the fish back in the water.

The singer moved to rescue the fish, throwing it back in the water, only for a bigger fish to catch the flying fish for its dinner.

“Oh my days. Oooh dear,” he exclaimed.

David was catapulted to stardom in 2000 by the song 7 Days, and despite a more low-key period for him musically, he is still very active in the industry.

The singer, who created the hit Rise and Fall with Sting in 2002, is seemingly in the Maldives not only for a holiday, but also to write new music.

He released his ninth studio album Commitment in August 2025.
