‘Weaponising aid’: New plan calls for private contractors to take over from UN in Gaza
A new plan for providing humanitarian aid to Gaza using a private charity and US security firms could replace the United Nations by seizing control of the delivery of essential goods to the besieged Palestinian enclave by providing aid “directly – and only – to those in need”. News of the plan came as UNICEF and the WFP on Monday warned of the risk of famine in Gaza.
