On Friday, Pakistan stunned India in the Women’s Asia Cup, winning 13 runs. This was only Pakistan’s third victory over India in T20 cricket. Nida Dar scored a fifty and took two wickets at pivotal times, paving the way for her team to win.

The Indian team, chasing 137 runs, only managed to score 124 before being bowled out in the 20th. Bismah Maroof, captain of Pakistan, was understandably ecstatic after the win and acknowledged the significance of the match following yesterday’s disappointing loss.

The Pakistani captain claimed his team had a good day reading the weather and following their game plans. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur said Pakistan played “excellent cricket” and ultimately won.

“In the middle, we were trying to give a chance to other batters because you have to do that as the tournament goes on, but it backfired. It was a chaseable target. We could not take singles and rotate the strike in the middle overs, and we played too many dot balls.”

“We executed things very well how Nida batted beautifully. We just wanted to take calculated risks. Nida played a crucial inning for us. We have gaps in the middle and know Nida can’t hit, so we look to hit the strength areas.”
