AKA and Tibz killers join Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala at Kokstad prison

The two Ndimande brothers, allegedly linked to the 2023 murders of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, are set to be transferred to the eBongweni Super Max Correctional Facility in Kokstad.

Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande appeared briefly in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday via video link from a separate location.

The case has been postponed to Wednesday, 4 March.

Face multiple charges

This was their third court appearance since their extradition from Eswatini in November last year.

The brothers face multiple charges, including murder in a separate case relating to the killing of a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti.

During proceedings, the defence, led by Advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa, told the court that they are unable to take proper instructions from their clients without access to specific documentation.

These include the extradition records from the Kingdom of Eswatini, outlining the legal process that resulted in the brothers’ return to South Africa.

Same prison

eBongweni Super Max Correctional Facility in Kokstad is the same prison at which Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala is now being held following his transfer from C-Max unit at Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre in Pretoria in late December 2025.
