Frosler pulled up with what looked like a hamstring injury in Chiefs’ loss against Cape Town City and has gone on to miss the MTN 8 win against Stellenbosch.

Frosler was key for Zwane

Before his injury, Frosler had established himself as a key component of Zwane’s Chiefs side, featuring as a left back. Even though right-footed, he has always been comfortable on his left side, which also made him an asset at his former club, the now defunct Bidvest Wits. His form in that position has been so good, that he kept out natural left footers such as Sibusiso Mabiliso, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Sfiso Hlanti and Happy Mashiane for that spot last season.

He would then pick up from where he left off under Zwane, this season starting all five of Chiefs league games so far, before the injury. It is no surprise that Frosler will not play against AmaZulu this weekend, and now Zwane has revealed the length the Gqeberha-born player is expected to be out for.

Out for a month

“In terms of injuries, we’ll be missing Reeve Frosler. He’s going to be out for four weeks,” Zwane said Speaking to media on Chiefs media open day, Zwane confirmed that Frosler could be out for up to a month.

Some good news for Chiefs

It won’t be all doom and gloom for Zwane, however, as new midfielder Yusuf Maart is set to return after missing a couple of games due to suspension. The Bafana Bafana international is another player who has proven to be a key player for Zwane’s side, with ‘10111’ bemoaning his absence at times.
