‘Behind-the-scenes drama’: Meghan wasn’t ‘invited’ to Balmoral

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle was reportedly “not invited” to Balmoral after Queen Elizabeth II’s death on Thursday 8 September.

MEGHAN WASN’T ‘INVITED’ TO BALMORAL

Prince Harry was said to have been headed to Scotland with his wife Meghan Markle when doctor’s expressed concerns for his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s health on Thursday 8 September. However, Daily Mail reported that plans have changed and Prince Harry was travelling to Scotland alone.

Buckingham Palace announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 8 September revealing that she had passed away in the afternoon. It has been reported that only her eldest son Charles, who is now King and her only daughter Princess Anne were present at the time of the Queen’s death. Her other children Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, his wife Sophie and Prince William were travelling via private jet to Scotland from Berkshire.

However, the family did not make it to Balmoral Castle before the Queen’s death. Prince Harry was believed to have been on his way when the news of the Queen’s death was made public.

ET reports that Meghan was not invited to join the royal family at Balmoral Castle.

“It’s understood that the family wanted Prince Harry to be there, even though he was unable to get to Balmoral in time to see his grandmother. But Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was not, we understand, invited to join the family,” said royal expert Katie Nicholl to the publication.

When the news of the Queen’s deteriorating health broke, Tweeps went as far as to blame Meghan for Her Majesty’s ill-health.

A SOURCE CLAIMS ‘TENSIONS WERE TOO HIGH’

Page Six reports that tensions were too high for Meghan to go to Balmoral.

“Tensions were so high and there was no way Meghan could have gone to Balmoral,” said a source to the publication.

The Queen’s death came after Meghan gave a bombshell interview to The Cut. She said that Prince Harry “lost” his father, now King Charles III because of Megxit.

“The fact the Sussex camp did say both Harry and Meghan were going — and then quickly retracted that statement — will tell you everything you need to know about the drama behind the scenes,” the source continued.
