Bulgaria gets EU approval to adopt euro, PM welcomes ‘remarkable day’

Bulgaria on Wednesday won the European Commission’s approval to become the eurozone’s 21st member as of next year. The country still needs the backing of the bloc’s finance ministers, but they are expected to do so in July.
