Earthquake in eastern Afghanistan kills hundreds, destroys villages
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake centred near the bustling eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad late Sunday killed more than 800 people and injured around 2,500, according to the Taliban government's chief spokesman. The quake razed villages in the eastern provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar, according to local authorities.
