Eric Tinkler scoops Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award
Eric Tinkler steered Sekhukhune United to four wins and a draw in the opening five league games of the current campaign.
Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has been named the Betway Premiership Coach of the Month by the PSL.
This award is for the month of August which saw all 16 Betway Premiership teams play five games each.
During that period, Sekhukhune United, under Tinkler, collected 13 points from a possible 15 to top the standings.
They share the same tally with second-placed Kaizer Chiefs who have an inferior goal-difference to them.
Tinkler was always going to be the favourite given that Chiefs had their assistants – Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze in charge in the absence of Nasreddine Nabi.
Miguel Cardoso was also considered after guiding Mamelodi Sundowns from the bottom half to third on the log.
