Njabulo Ngcobo’s disastrous spell at Kaizer Chiefs appears to be drawing to a close.

Ngcobo joined the Glamour Boys with high expectations in 2021 however he was unable to rise to the challenge at Naturena.

The former DStv Premiership Defender of The Season struggled to knuckle down a starting berth in his three years at the club.

Ngcobo made just 45 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs, scoring one goal! With his contract set to come to an end at the end of this month, an extension looks rather unlikely!

According to Ngcobo’s agent, negotiations with a new DStv Premiership are already underway!

“Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo is close to finalising his next move following a very challenging spell in Naturena” a SABC Sport report read.

The publication further claimed that AmaZulu, Richards Bay and Sekhukhune United are all interested in signing the player.

“We are still negotiating with them (Sekhukhune United),” Ngcobo’s agent Sboniso Ngubane confirmed to the publication.

In other news, the agent of Royal AM star Mfundo Thikazi has confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs have enquired about the availability of the talented winger.

Thikazi has been one of Royal AM’s standout performers since making his debut for the club in 2021.

The speedy winger scored 12 goals in 77 appearances for Royal AM while registering two more assists.

And now, the 24-year-old is reportedly wanted by Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs!

According to the latest transfer gossip, Chiefs have made a formal approach for Thikazi however Royal AM are reluctant to lose their star man amidst a transfer ban!

“For now, it’s just interest. Yes, Chiefs have shown interest in the player. We will see when the team returns from the break for preseason training and camp to see what will happen,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“It’s not the first time that Kaizer Chiefs have shown interest in Thikazi. Last season before they signed Tebogo Potsane they actually wanted him but Royal AM could not let him go. But at the moment it looks like they will let him go.”

The player’s agent Thabang Mncwabe further confirmed to the publication that Kaizer Chiefs have made contact with him over Thikazi.
