Foolproof Security Ensured for CT Matches

The police in the city guaranteed absolute security during ICC Champion Trophy matches concluding Thursday in Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi. The security arrangements had been made in coordination with the Pakistan Army, Rangers and other agencies: this was confirmed by a police spokesman.

The spokesman further added that more than 5,000 police officials and over 350 Traffic Police officers conducted responsibility regarding security. Babar Sarfraz Alpa, regional police officer, Syed Khalid Hamdani, police officer of the city, SSP operations, chief traffic officer and other top officers conducted overall arrangements, he added.

Syed Khalid Hamdani hailed officers and employees for their outstanding work. “I thank security agencies and district administration for full cooperation in making necessary foolproof security, traffic and other arrangements.”

He extended his thanks to traders, media representatives, citizens and civil society organizations who have been assisting police during match days and assured that Rawalpindi Police was committed to eradicating crimes, bringing about law and order and making national and international events secure.
