France and Senegal in talks to arrange departure of French troops by end of 2025
Dakar and Paris are setting up a joint commission to arrange the departure of French troops from Senegal's territory by the end of the year, the foreign ministers of both countries said in a joint statement Wednesday. Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye said last year that former colonial power France should close all its military bases in the West African country.
