Garden Route makes World’s ‘Most Instagrammable’ list

The Garden Route in the Western Cape has landed on the Top 10 list of Most Instagrammable road trips in the world. 

This followed a study that analysed social media trends on popular international scenic routes.

The results of the Top 10 Most Instagrammable Road Trips were recently released by a B2B car company, eCarsTrade.

The study analysed social media trends – ranking Instagram hashtag data for 37 iconic routes across six continents.

Interestingly, the Garden Route earned a well-deserved spot in the Top 10. Chapman’s Peak Drive in Cape Town also made it onto the list.

In another poll, undertaken by Autotrader, the Garden Route was voted the World’s best road trip route.

According to the findings, the destination achieved a near-perfect 90.6 out of 100 across factors such as road quality, scenery, weather conditions, visibility, temperature, and overall driving experience.

The Garden Route spans between 200 – 300 kilometres between Mossel Bay in the Western Cape and Storms River in the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve in the Eastern Cape.

The route passes through picturesque coastal towns such as Wilderness, George, Sedgefield, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, and Nature’s Valley. It covers terrain including mountains, beaches, valleys, rivers, and forests.

SANParks has encouraged visitors to the Garden Route to enjoy various activities and accommodation stops along the way.
