South African golfer Gary Player is hoping to live to 100 years old - and his 'new, young girlfriend' has likely something to do with it.

South African golf legend Gary Player has bragged about dating a “young” girlfriend at almost 90 years old!

Player was widowed in 2021 after his wife of 64 years, Vivienne, died of cancer.

The couple have six children together.

Speaking at the Masters last week, Gary Player shared the “secrets” to his youthful looks.

He told reporters: “I’ve got a young girlfriend – I’ve changed my life. How about that, at (almost) 90, finding a girlfriend?

He continued: “I’ll tell you what, guys, you all – you or your wife is going to die. One of the spouses is going to die, and it’s not the end of life.

“So many people that does happen and they get so disheartened that they don’t think they should continue life. The greatest gift bestowed upon a man or woman is life. So my ambition is to reach 100.

“So I went to India and I met a gerontologist and he gave me 11 things to work on, which I adhere to. So I might drop dead tomorrow, but I’m giving it a hell of a try.”

Gary Player is referring to his new partner, 84-year-old widow, Susan Waterfall.

‘SHE’S VERY RICH’

Gary Player and Susan Waterfall first met in 2023 at a charity golf event, where the South African laid the charm on thick.

He shared with reporters at the PNC Championship last year: ‘I’m on the putting green, and this lady comes up and says, ‘I’m Susan Waterfall. Everyone has been trying to introduce us. I put my arm around her – she’s gorgeous – and I said, ‘I love this country, America, so much. I’ve got to have an American girlfriend.’ She blushes, doesn’t say anything. So I said, ‘Will you come to dinner with me?’”

He also jokingly told her, “She’s very rich,” he said.

“I said, ‘Listen, Susan, I don’t need your money. I’m also rich. You don’t need my money. But if you die before me, you can leave me a little.’”
