Good and bad news for Kaizer Chiefs’ chase for Nabi’s top target!

Kaizer Chiefs have been chasing an attacking midfielder ahead of the current transfer window and they have now received feedback!

Good and bad news for Kaizer Chiefs’ chase for Nabi’s top target!

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be ready to bolster their squad with some quality additions in the current window.

It’s no secret that Chiefs are looking to add more experience and players of a high calibre to their squad.

In the previous transfer window, Chiefs gave new coach Nasreddine Nabi seven new signings to start his tenure at Amakhosi. But it hasn’t quite worked out for the club, leading to the Tunisian mentor crying for top quality additions. Now with the window open again, the club top brass can begin to act on some of the transfer rumours.

Chiefs chasing Salum

One of the midfielders that has been linked to Chiefs has been Feisal Salum. The attacking midfielder was in scintillating form for FC Azam last season, scoring 19 goals. Furthermore this season, he has already amassed 13 goal contributions with four goals and nine assists. Amakhosi and Simba SC are both believed to have been pushing for his signature for the January transfer window.

It was believed that Chiefs were weighing up the possibility of sending a R15 million offer to Azam. But now according to iDiski Times the club will not sell Salum in this window. But the good news for Amakhosi is that when they eventually sell him,  Azam are not looking to sell to a rival. So that eliminates their closest competition right now for his signature in Simba!

Good and bad news for Amakhosi

“We (Azam) haven’t received any offers at this stage, but one thing I can say is there’s a very small chance for us to sell him (Salum) because we want to keep him and build this team around him. If it happens that we sell him, it will be outside Tanzania, we cannot sell to our direct competitors (Simba). Imagine selling a weapon to your rival, no we just cannot. For now, we want him to focus and help us.” Said a source at the club to the same publication.

So it looks like Chiefs will have to wait before getting Salum. They can take solace, however, from the fact that Simba appear to have been ruled out of the picture. Is this a massive blow? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments.
