Humanity in Gaza shines despite war and hardship, aid worker says

Humanity continues to shine in war-torn Gaza despite extreme levels of hardship, said Jacob Granger, humanitarian project coordinator for Médecins sans Frontières. Returning from a 6-week mission to Gaza as the Israel-Hamas war enters its 11th month, Granger described the pain and suffering among local Palestinians who lack food and water as well as access to healthcare. Despite the seemingly insuperable challenges, “you see a lot of people with fireflies, you see a lot of people with some ice sorbet ... you see a lot of hair [salons] within the tents,” Granger said, adding: “It’s so human other there ... it’s impossible to deny the state of humanity”.
