According to Rekord, the 16-year-old autistic and deaf boy was reported missing in August and his family has been up and down searching for him for the past three weeks.

Mahlangu’s brother told Rekord that the 16-year-old has been in the mortuary since 29 August 2022.

The brother said they have a lot of questions because no one even reached out to ask them to come to see the unidentified dead person they have in the mortuary when posters of missing people were all over.

He said the family is waiting for the investigating officer to tell them where he was found and the cause of his death.

“Apparently my brother was hit by a car at the R80 Mabopane highway but we never heard of an accident there and if that happened how did he end up in a Ga-Rankuwa mortuary while there are mortuaries in Soshanguve?” he asked.
