CHIDIMMA ADETSHINA: ‘THIS CROWN IS A CALL TO ACTION’

The South African-born beauty queen, Chidimma Adetshina took to her Instagram on Sunday, 1 September to thank her family for supporting her.

“What an incredible journey this has been. Standing here as Miss Universe Nigeria is a dream come true. I am deeply honoured and humbled to wear this crown tonight,” she said.

Adetshina also reveals that she’s dedicating the crown to God Almighty, who has been her strength through every trial and triumph.

“Without His grace, I wouldn’t be standing here today. I am forever grateful.”

“To my fellow queens, the beautiful and strong ladies who have graced this competition with me, I love you all, this crown represents all of us as queens.” ????

As I accept this honour, I want to share a vision that burns deeply within me, a vision of African unity and peaceful co-existence!

“Special thanks to my family who has stood by me through every challenge, every tear, and every victory, this is for you. Your love and support have been my foundation. Special thanks to my friends and fans all over the world, also special thanks to @silverbird for extending the invitation to participate. To my team, I say a very big thank you.”

MISS UNIVERSE NIGERIA: COMPETES IN MEXICO

Chidimma Adetshina competed against 24 other contestants in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa pageant due to controversies surrounding her Nigerian roots.

According to IOL, Chidimma Adetshina, who represented Taraba State received 48 105 votes followed by Ufa Dania who lead with 51 538 votes.

Ben Murray Bruce, a former Nigerian Senator and Chairman of Silverbird group, organisers of the event, said: “No Nigerian woman anywhere on earth who wants the platform to be successful, to get a fighting chance, that woman, that Nigerian, will never be denied that opportunity.”

Adetshina will represent Nigeria at the global Miss Universe competition in Mexico this November.
