Chiefs have bolstered their attacking options with the addition of Tashreeq Morris, who has already begun training with his new teammates. Sources confirm the striker joined Amakhosi from SuperSport United earlier this week, with his third session taking place on Friday. Morris passed his medical at the start of the week, and an official club announcement is expected soon.

At 30 years old, Tashreeq Morris boasts a wealth of experience in the PSL. After joining SuperSport United on a free transfer in October 2024, he delivered two goals in 10 appearances across all competitions. One of those goals proved pivotal, as SuperSport defeated Chiefs 1-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium last year.

Morris’ ability to hold up play and dominate aerial duels in the box reportedly impressed Chiefs’ head coach Nasreddine Nabi. As a former Ajax Cape Town attacker, he’s expected to provide tactical flexibility and serve as a reliable scoring option.

When asked about Morris’ arrival, Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef played it cool, refusing to confirm anything before an official club statement.

“I haven’t seen Morris in my training. The day I see Morris with us or our media department announces his signing, I’ll answer,” said Ben Youssef. “But at this moment, I only saw Morris when we played against SuperSport. I remember preparing our team for him.”

Ben Youssef also confirmed that Saile remains at the club despite SuperSport coach Gavin Hunt announcing his signing. “Saile is with us; I was with him this morning,” he revealed.

More firepower for Chiefs: Lilepo added to the mix

In addition to Morris, Kaizer Chiefs recently secured another exciting signing—Glody Makabi Lilepo from French third-division side Valenciennes FC. The DR Congo winger promises to inject more creativity and pace into Amakhosi’s attack.
