New Kaizer Chiefs signing Edmilson Dove is being celebrated after Wednesday night’s 2-1 victory over Swallows FC at Dobsonville.

As The South African reported on Wednesday night, the Glamour Boys earned their first away victory of the season, thanks to two first-half goals from Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Keagan Dolly.

All eyes were on the post-match interviews to see who SuperSport TV would be chatting to for the Man of the Match interview. 

Without surprise, it was the 28-year-old Mozambican central defender Edmilson Dove, whom Amakhosi signed as a free agent in August.

Reacting to the performance on social media, the former Cape Town City stars’ name has been trending since Wednesday night with over 28 000 mentions on Twitter.

@Cellular_jnr said: “I’m honestly one of the guys who didn’t understand the signing of Edmilson Dove… Only to find out we signed a quality defender.”

@Kideo_Mah said: “Edmilson Dove was a great buy for Kaizer Chiefs. Still baffles me he was let go by Cape Town City-non footballing reason. Very versatile and can play left wing-back and left center-back.”

Meanwhile, Dove is expected to surely start as Amakhosi visit Stellenbsoch on Sunday at 15:30.
