The nippy striker last kicked a ball in competitive matches last term, and the fact that Marcelo Allende took his No.11 jersey means he’s no longer in the coaches plans.

While Rhulani Mokwena said the club will ‘support’ both Erasmus and Gift Motupa for as long as they are Sundowns players, the former appears to have a different view.

Earlier this week, Erasmus took to social media to seemingly respond to Mokwena’s ‘support’ statement with a cryptic message, as reported by The South African website.

Erasmus said, ‘support doesn’t always come in the form of money‘ in what was seen as a jibe at Mokwena who previously said the club will make announcements on who stays and leaves.

And perhaps it is time for Chiefs to reignite their interest in Erasmus whom they wanted to sign from SuperSport United in 2013.

At the time, Erasmus joined Orlando Pirates instead, after they showed huge interest in him and tabled an offer SuperSport United couldn’t refuse.

Now, Erasmus finds himself in limbo and he wants to play, and this could be Amakhosi’s final chance to acquire his services as the striker is approaching the twilight of his career.

At 32, Erasmus can give Chiefs two or three years of services, and that could benefit the Soweto giants as the younger ones try to find their feet at Naturena.
