My New Favorite ALDI Find Is the Best I’ve Ever Had
La Terra Fina quiche from ALDI is the best grocery store quiche I’ve found and makes a great easy meal.
I love quiche, but I don’t often have time to make a pie crust from scratch, nor do I always have the right ingredients on hand. So, when I was strolling past the deli section at the front of one of my favorite ALDI stores—and yes, I do have three favorite ALDIs I shop at regularly—I discovered La Terra Fina quiches.
One was a traditional quiche Lorraine, and the other was broccoli cheddar. I couldn’t decide which to try, so I grabbed both. I am very glad I did because they’re delicious!
What’s So Great About ALDI’s La Terra Fina Quiches
La Terra Fina quiches are pretty hefty in size—they weigh 23 ounces or nearly a pound and a half for a single quiche. The label says there are five servings per quiche, but if you divide a quiche more evenly, you can get six slices. Or, if you are like my son, there are only four slices, and he eats two of them.
At $9.99, they’re a little bit more expensive than other ALDI products, but they’re totally worth it—and they’re way less expensive than the quiche I get at my local food coop, which is more like $6 for just a slice or a quarter of an entire pie.
Each quiche is made with egg whites, whole milk, and cheese, but the quiche Lorraine has Swiss cheese and bacon, and the broccoli and cheddar has, well, broccoli and cheddar. Both quiches are fully cooked, with the top browned just slightly. There are no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, and the egg whites come from cage-free eggs.
They’re also super easy to make. Either bake them at 375°F in the oven for 30 minutes or just pop a slice in the microwave for two minutes.
The ease of cooking is one selling point, but the real reason to get these quiches is that they are just so, so good. They’re absolutely the best quiche I’ve ever purchased from a grocery store. They boast a flakey, melt-in-your-mouth crust and an eggy, extra savory filling. I found them at ALDI, but I’ve since learned they’re also sold at other grocery stores, too.
How I Serve La Terra Fina Quiches
It goes without saying these quiches are absolutely perfect for brunch. If you’re hosting a party, buy a couple, grab some coffee cake, make a fruit salad, serve coffee and mimosas, and you’re all set.
But you don’t have to throw a party to enjoy them. They’re great for hectic, weekday morning breakfasts. I also served one the other evening for dinner when I didn’t have time to cook—the quiche and a bagged salad was a winning combination.
