NEW CUP: Kaizer Chiefs playing this weekend

As announced last month, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will headline a brand new cup tournament in the Eastern Cape. Amakhosi have since confirmed the decision.

HOME OF LEGENDS CUP

While the FIFA break takes hold over the next two weeks, sponsors have created such events.

According to the initial report, there will be four teams in total: Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Golden Arrows, and Chippa United.

“Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium unveils Home of Legends Cup initiative. 4 Teams will play in a 1 day tournament at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on the 16 November 2024 Saturday,” the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium social media page confirmed.

KAIZER CHIEFS CONFIRM PARTICIPATION

After taking silence on the news, Amakhosi have finally confirmed they will be in Gqeberha this weekend.

“We’re delighted to be part of this initiative,” Jessica Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs’ Marketing and Commercial Director, said on the club’s official website.

“The Home of Legends Cup exemplifies the country’s passion for the beautiful game and the spirit of unity that defines South African football. It’s an excellent opportunity for our team to stay competitive during the break and keep our loyal supporters entertained.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible support this season. We encourage our fans to continue showing their passion and loyalty. Their presence makes a significant difference to the team’s performance,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss lady added.
