Orlando Pirates Identify Bafana Bafana star as next transfer target!
Orlando Pirates are looking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming January transfer window with a Bafana Bafana star in mind.
Orlando Pirates will look to bolster their side in the upcoming January transfer window to push for the league.
Over the weekend, Pirates found themselves relegated to second spot on the table after suffering their first loss.
Pirates looking to sign a midfielder
This came courtesy of Stellenbosch FC, who won by the solitary goal in Orlando. Not that the result led to panic stations, but Pirates are believed to be eyeing players that can coming. This in the hope of strengthening their title charge as they have seen Mamelodi Sundowns overtake them. Now in order to sustain their charge through a busy campaign that includes CAF Champions League, they will look to increase their depth.
It is now believed that Pirates are targeting at least positions to strengthen in the window, central midfield and striker. In the midfield ranks they have been credited with an interest in Chippa United and Bafana Bafana star Sinoxolo Kwayiba. According to Soccer-Laduma they are poised to make a formal offer for the 24-year-old.
Kwayiba a big target?
“Pirates are very interested in Sinoxolo Kwayiba but they are not the only club. Sekhukhune United a few other local clubs are also showing interest. For Chippa, the first option would be to sell the player overseas, that’s the aim, but that doesn’t mean they won’t consider local offers. But you must understand that for a club with such plans about selling overseas, Chippa will want to get closer to what they would get from overseas clubs. And this player is young with a bright future ahead of him” said the source to the same publication.
Kwayiba has been a mainstay for Chippa in midfield this season, with his Stellar performances earning a Bafana debut. This as a replacement for Jayden Adams, who was kicked out of camp for arriving late. He has also now caught the eye of Pirates. Buccaneers, would you be keen to see him signed by the club in January? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
