Orlando Pirates pile more misery on SuperSport United

Orlando Pirates registered a hard-fought 1-0 win over relegation-threatened SuperSport United on Tuesday.

Mohau Nkota scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute after Pirates struggled in the first half.

As a result, Pirates moved to 59 points with two games to go, but they will remain second on the log no matter what with Mamelodi Sundowns having already been crowned champions.

On the other hand, SuperSport United remained 14th on the log, tied on 26 points with 15th-placed Cape Town City.

Matsatsantsa needed to win in order open a gap between them and Cape Town City but they just couldn’t do that on the night.

One of the notable things about the game was the fact that Mandla Ncikazi handed goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla his debut.

Interestingly, Dladla was also celebrating his 24th birthday, and he kept a cleansheet for Pirates on the night.
