Orlando Pirates transfer news: New technical team member arrives

Orlando Pirates have welcomed a new technical team member from Stellenbosch FC as previously reported by The South African.

Ruan Rust was expected to join Pirates from Stellies during this FIFA break, and the man has finally arrived.

Rust is the new Head of Performance at the Sea Robbers, and he joins the club to try and assist Jose Riveiro as best as possible.

And he will be expected to help sharpen Pirates players, especially during this period where there are matches coming left, right and centre.

Rust took to his social media platforms to announce his arrival at Pirates, much to the delight of the club fans.

Rust is a qualified Biokinetist and he also holds a CAF D Coaching License, and he will surely add value to the Pirates technical team.

He has been with Stellies for nine years having first joined their Academy for Sports as a strength and conditioning coach in 2015.

Rust worked his way up to the Stellies first team, and has worked closely with coach Steve Barker over the years.

While Rust was expected take over from his former Stellies colleague Devon O’Brien who joined Pirates earlier this season, he appears to have been given a senior position in that department.

Meanwhile, Riveiro was on Monday named the best coach in the league for September/October.

He guided Pirates to six league wins, and those results helped take the Soweto giants to the summit of the Betway Premiership log.
