Reports have it that the South African Revenue Services has set its sights on Prophet Bushiri’s television channel, Prophetic Channel.

SARS GOES AFTER BUSHIRI

Sunday World reports that the taxman has billed Bushiri’s popular channel over R100 million for unpaid taxes. However, the news has since thrust the controversial man of oath into the top trends.

Confirmed reports have it that the revenue service applied for a judgment against Bushiri’s channel in the high court in Johannesburg last week. This is undoubtedly not the first time he has hogged headlines for the wrong reasons.

However, his recent tax woes come years after his fortune was seized after he violated his bail conditions. In 2019, Bushiri and his wife were nabbed for a string of charges that dated back to 2015. However, against the backdrop of their arrest, the two skipped the borders after being released on bail.

In April 2023, Bushiri’s wife Mary owed Sars R44 million in unpaid taxes. However, the rumour mill has it that his business empire, rumoured to be worth billions, has since collapsed. The controversial prophet had made a fortune in South Africa.

He established a colourful business portfolio. However, reports suggest he was involved in transport, logistics, tourism, and hospitality. Bushiri is rumoured to be the owner of the R1.3 billion resort, Sparkling Waters Hotel and Spa, in Rustenburg.
