“Divided by borders, united by cricket,” Indian player Manoj Tiwary captioned a shot of Faheem Ashraf and Asif Ali on social media.
The social media post has gone viral as cricket fans prepare for another matchup between the archrivals. Many nail-biting cricket matches have been played between both nations. Only international tournaments now bring them together.
The 12-team competition will be held November 1–3 in four groups. Pool C features Ashraf-led Green Shirts, India, and the UAE. Pakistan will play UAE and India on November 1.
On Thursday, The News reported that the top two teams from each group will proceed to the quarterfinals on November 2 and the semifinals and final on November 3. Other than Ashraf and Ali, Pakistan’s squad features Aamer Yamin, Danish Aziz, Hussain Talat, Shahab Khan, and Mohammad Akhlaq.
