Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first against Zimbabwe in the first edition of the three-match ODI series on Sunday. Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, hosts the match. After beating Australia 2-1 in a historic match in Australia, this is Green Shirts’ second ODI series this month.
Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Tayyab Tahir replace Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi in the 15-man team. Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe 2-1 in Rawalpindi in November 2020 in the 50-over format.
Pakistan won a five-match ODI series in Zimbabwe in July 2018 on their last visit. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan said the ODI series against Zimbabwe was crucial for testing their bench strength and preparing for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy at home.

After the Australia series, our three top players will recover, therefore it will be great to see other guys support the team during 50-over matches.
Pakistan’s interim white-ball head coach is former fast bowler and Men’s National Selection Committee member Aqib Javed. He will coach until the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at home. After joining the team on Friday, his first duty would be the ODI series against Zimbabwe.
The Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo will host three T20Is after the ODI series.
