PSL transfer news: Oswin Appollis, Lucas Ribeiro, Monnapule Saleng

The PSL summer window may have concluded, but that doesn’t mean clubs have stopped negotiations.

Orlando Pirates finished January empty-handed amid Oswin Appollis and Jaedin Rhodes links – one can only assume that they will go big in the offseason.

Rumours around the PSL

  • Oswin Appollis will remain a Polokwane City player until the end of the season. The club’s chairman, Johnny Mogaladi, is adamant about keeping his best players to establish the club as a title contender. The 63-year-old businessman will find it hard to keep Appollis in the offseason, with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs keen on the Bafana star.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has alluded that Lucas Ribeiro Costa’s time in the PSL could be short-lived.
  • Orlando Pirates winger Monnapule Saleng hasn’t featured since early November, prompting many to believe he could leave during the winter window.

More on Costa

Brazilians coach Cardoso has warned PSL fans to enjoy Costa while they can, saying, “one of the things I said to Lucas when I arrive here, knowing that he was performing well in the league, was to try to tell him that there are always things that can be done,

“So, try to make him understand the that he should have to continue to develop himself, [that] should be present everyday in his life,

“We work hard on the mindset of the players a lot. I think the message is entering most of them, with commitment, with the work, with the strong mindset of getting better, with respect for everyday work,

“Lucas can go further on. We should profit as much as possible while we can from him and let’s hope the club can keep him for long because he is a very important player,

“Lucas is a player to play at a high level, international, no doubt.”
