The first episode of Die Real Housewives of Pretoria debuted on Thursday 13 October. Viewers were introduced to six housewives, Renske Lammerding, Marié Bosman, Talana Kuhn, Kiki La Coco, Mel Viljoen and Rhona Erasmus. ‘DIE REAL HOUSEWIVES VAN  PRETORIA’

Die Real Housewives van Pretoria makes history as the first Afrikaans version of the global reality series. It is also the fourth instalment of the series in South Africa and the fifth in Africa. 

In the first episode, viewers met six women who are known in Pretoria for their businesses, luxury vehicles, high-end clothes and their “cliques”. The cast members reside behind the high walls of the capital city’s luxury estates while Kiki La Coco is looking to move from Mpumalanga to Pretoria with her family. 

All six women got together at Renske’s house in Silver Lakes for a stokvel and it did not take long for the drama to begin…

‘ENTERTAINMENT GALORE’: TWEEPS ARE LOVING THE SERIES 

The Afrikaans reality show shot the top of Twitter’s trending list following its debut and tweeps are loving it! Some compared it to the other versions of the Real Housewives in South Africa. 

“One thing about them, they are rich rich, not these things of Cape Town,” wrote one tweep.

“They are having a squabble calmly y’all. Is this how people with money do it?” wrote another tweep. 

“Entertainment galore. They definitely killed it.”

“Y’all I love the fact that these women don’t know each other but now they forced to know each other.”

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ‘DIE REAL HOUSEWIVES VAN PRETORIA’

Die Real Housewives van Pretoria is set to be a 13-part series. kykNET’s director of channels, Waldimar Pelser, said the channel wanted to showcase a group of strong Afrikaans women from Pretoria. 

“These women live large and know the beautiful things in life. This is a rare chance to get to know them intimately and walk in their shoes,” said Pelsler.
