‘Homegrown Tastes SA’: Lorna Maseko returns for season two
Lorna Maseko returns for the second season of 'Homegrown Tastes South Africa' which will premiere on BBC Lifestyle in 2023.
BBC Studios announced that Homegrown Tastes South Africa, starring Lorna Maseko has been green-lit for a second season, returning to BBC Lifestyle’s (DStv channel 174) local line-up in 2023.
‘HOMEGROWN TASTES SOUTH AFRICA’ SEASON TWO
Season two of Homegrown Tastes South Africa presented by South African international award-winning celebrity chef and TV personality, Lorna Maseko.The series will be produced by Rapid Blue.
Season one followed Maseko on a journey across the scenic wonders of South Africa – to discover the unique homegrown cuisine from urban street food, haute cuisine, seafood to the finest wines. In each episode, Maseko met a feast of local faces from celebrities such as Pearl Modiadie and Khaya Mthethwa to the country’s incredible chefs, producers and restaurant owners.
Audiences were inspired as she prepared her own delicious interpretation using the hero ingredients from each episode. Filming for season two will commence in December 2022 for seven weeks.

LORNA MASEKO RETURNS TO BBC LIFESTYLE
Maseko expressed that she is excited for the second season of the series. She went on to say that she can’t wait for audiences to discover more local stories, recipes and more.
“I am so excited that Homegrown Tastes South Africa is returning to BBC Lifestyle for a second season. To celebrate South Africa’s incredible produce and the people behind the magic is what makes this show so special,” said Maseko in a statement.
“The response to season one was incredible and I can’t wait for audiences to discover even more local stories, delicious recipes and inspirational chefs. I’m so ready for this journey and I can’t wait for BBC Lifestyle’s audiences to join me next year,” she continued.
Pierre Cloete, Commercial Director for Africa at BBC Studios said that they are thrilled to bring another season of the series.

We’ve seen a real appetite for local content and this announcement reflects our commitment to bring even more local commissions to the channel,” said Cloete.

Rapid Blue’s production Come Dine With Me South Africa returns for an eighth season from Wednesday 12 October at 20:00.
