There has been widespread speculation that Queen Elizabeth II was an Arsenal supporter. Jeremy Corbyn once said in a speech: ‘Now, we know the Queen is absolutely above politics. She may be above football, too, but many locals harbour this quite secret view that she’s actually, privately, a Gooner.’
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas also claimed that Her Majesty told him she was a fan of the Gunners during a reception at Buckingham Palace in 2007.

Arsenal pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
The players came out for the second half of their Europa League match last night against FC Zurich wearing black armbands. The whole stadium played their part in a minute of silence after the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s death emerged. Arsenal fans chanted the national anthem too.
It’s expected that Premier League fixtures scheduled for this weekend will be postponed as the nation mourns the Queen’s passing.
