FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

1.Extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western parts of the of the Free State and in places over the North-West, as well as parts of Limpopo and the Lowveld in Mpumalanga.

ADVISORIES:

1.A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo from this Wednesday (12 October 2022) until Friday.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Fine and hot, becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with afternoon isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-eastern parts.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot.

Free State:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the north-west and central parts.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Morning fog along the coast where it will be cool to warm, otherwise partly cloudy and hot to very hot with isolated showers and thundershowers over the extreme south-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly from the afternoon.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy with morning fog along the coast, otherwise fine and cool to warm by the afternoon. Isolated thundershowers are expected over the Central Karoo in the afternoon.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light and variable along the south coast in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly but strong north of Betty’s Bay from the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half –Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers, except in the south.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly.

The Eastern half -Partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated thundershowers.

The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm but hot in places over the interior. Isolated showers and thundershowers can be accepted, except in the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northeasterly north of Cape St. Lucia at first, otherwise southwesterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
