Rump steak stir-fry: A versatile meal with tender steak and veggies

Stir-fry, a form of Chinese cooking is a great way to add great protein for strong muscles and immunity with vegetables that add more important nutrients. Rump steak stir-fry tips
Before adding anything into the pan, brown the steak in batches in the hot pan or wok for a few minutes. Make sure that you have all of your ingredients ready as the cooking process is very fast. Of course, this stir-fry recipe is just a base. You can add more colours of peppers, mini corn, mushrooms and any other tasty vegetables to the party. Serve your family a big bowl on a bed of fluffy rice or noodles for the best meal.

Rump steak stir-fry recipe

500 g rump steak
125 ml olive oil
1-2 cloves garlic
1 small onion or shallot
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 green pepper, diced
1 pinch ground ginger
1 tbsp Maizena or corn starch
125 ml beef stock
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method
- Cut the rump steak into strips against the grain.
- Heat the oil and saute onions and when they become light brow, add garlic for 1 minute. Remove the onions.
- Stir fry the meat at very high heat and mix in the onion, green pepper, salt, pepper and ginger. Cook for 3 minutes.
- Dissolve Maizena in some water or stock and blend with the stock and soy. Add it to the stir-fry and cook until sauce is thick.
- Serve with rice or noodles.
