SABC to televise Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs match
SABC will televise the anticipated match between Sundowns and Chiefs. The match could have a say on which team wins the league.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) will televise the anticipated Betway Premiership between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.
Amakhosi take the short trip north to Pretoria on Wednesday evening as they look to upset Masandawna at the Loftus Versfeld stadium.
Often regarded as the second-biggest fixture in the league after the Soweto Derby, this clash is expected to draw the same capacity crowd as it has done for the past number of seasons.
The first-round meeting between Amakhosi and the Brazilians at FNB stadium back in August was sold out, with over 75 000 fans in attendance, and ended in a 0-0 draw after the final whistle.
Who will win between Chiefs and Sundowns?
Their last league clash was a goalless draw but before that, Chiefs claimed a famous 2-1 win in the Nedbank Cup semi-final before going all the way to win the competition.
Amakhosi need a win to secure their CAF Confederation Cup spot but anything but defeat could see AmaZulu close the gap to third place.
Heading into Wednesday’s match, Chiefs occupy third position on the log with 47 points from 26 games, while Sundowns lead the standings with 64 points from 27 matches after beating Polokwane City 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Wednesday’s encounter could also have a big say on which team wins the Betway Premiership. A win for the Brazilians will put them in a good position to win the league but anything less could see momentum in Orlando Pirates’ favour heading into the last three round.
How to watch Sundowns v Chiefs
The match will be live on SABC 3 as well as SuperSport 2. Kick off is scheduled for 19:30.
