Eight renowned Pakistan internationals, involving male and female cricketers, start their Level-II Coaching course beginning today at National Cricket Academy. The six-day course runs through Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Participants include Pakistan Test cricketers Azhar Ali (97 Tests, 53 ODIs), Bilawal Bhatti (two Tests, 10 ODIs, 9 T20Is), Naved Latif (one Test, 11 ODIs), Shadab Khan (six Tests, 70 ODIs, 104 T20Is), Wahab Riaz (27 Tests, 91 ODIs, 36 T20Is) and Yasir Shah (48 Tests, 25 ODIs, 2 T20Is).
Also part of the course are Asad Ali (four ODIs, two T20Is) and former Pakistan Women’s captain Bismah Maroof (136 ODIs, 140 T20Is).
The Level II Coaching course develops into advanced coaching techniques relative to advanced coaching techniques of power hitting, current tactical and technique skills, and game strategy.
In addition to that, the participants will learn communication skills, along with procedures regarding mental and physical conditioning of the player.
The course is being conducted by former Test cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq and international cricketer Dr. Imran Abbas, along with NCA coaches Abdul Majeed, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mauhtashim Rashid, Rahat Abbas Asadi and Saboor Ahmed. On completion, learners will be allowed to take up to three months to complete their assignments. Learners who successfully meet these requirements will be accredited with Level II coaching.
