Shaheen Afridi Joins Fortune Barishal for BPL 2024-25

Fortune Barishal, the defending BPL winners, have signed Pakistan’s great pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi for the season. Fortune Barishal plays Durbar Rajshahi, the league’s newest team, at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on December 30 to begin off the 11th BPL.

Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will play for Fortune Barishal in the BPL, the team announced. After signing directly, the 24-year-old should be eligible for the first five matches of the campaign.

He received a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board to play till January 15. International stars Kyle Mayers, Dawid Malan, Mohammad Nabi, Faheem Ashraf, Ali Mohammad, and Jahandad Khan are Fortune Barishal’s straight signings. The players’ draft added James Fuller, Pathum Nissanka, and Nandre Burger.

The team’s domestic roster includes experienced Bangladeshi players Tamim Iqbal, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Tanvir Islam, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Ripon Mondol, Ebadot Hossain, Nayeem Hasan, Rishad Hossain, and Taijul Islam

The seven-team tournament, comprising Dhaka Capitals, Chittagong Kings, Durbar Rajshahi, Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Strikers, ends on February 7, 2025.
