A clip of Rassie Erasmus giving Irish rugby fans the thumbs up after the Springboks’ victory has gone viral on social media.
The coach and the rest of the squad celebrated the country’s first win in Dublin since 2012.
The Boks beat their rugby rivals 24-13 at the Aviva Stadium.
RASSIE’S SPRINGBOK CELEBRATION GOES VIRAL
After the final whistle blew, a TV camera cut to Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus, who was seated in the staff box in the stands.
Sporting an animated face, the 53-year-old gleefully showed two thumbs up to Irish fans seated in the stadium before making his way out.
Rassie later posted on X: “Love you”, alongside an emoji of the South African flag.
His celebration comes after Irish fans booed the visiting team for much of the game.
RG Snyman – who plays for Irish club Leinster, and celebrated his 50th test match cap – received a substantial amount of the crowd’s jeers.
FIRST WIN IN DUBLIN IN OVER A DECADE
The Springboks’ victory against Ireland in Dublin is the first one since 2012.
The South African team lost to their rugby rivals in 2014, 2017, and 2022.
