However, the AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu more recently revealed that clear-the-air talks were successfully held with Kaizer Chiefs’ Bobby and Jessica Motaung.

“We enjoy relationships with other clubs, not only Orlando Pirates, yes I used to support them but now they are my competitors,” Zungu said on Ukhozi FM.  “I enjoy (good) relationships with other teams, we talk with them, and even now there are talks with TS Galaxy, Cape Town City and others.

“Even Kaizer Chiefs, whatever happens with one of the players, we’ve spoken about it with Bobby and Jessica Motaung. It is in the past now, we are at peace, so there’s no longer bad blood.”

Sithebe has now shared a message with his former employer

Ahead of Chiefs’ MTN8 semi-final first leg with AmaZulu, Sithebe said the saga around the issue with his former club was now in the past.

“As I said before the Chairman knows what happened and I didn’t talk with him. Everything I heard was from the newspapers,” he told reporters.

“I don’t know if we did see eye to eye with him or what. That’s why I said whatever happened I’m sorry to him, so if he also forgives me then it’s good. I think he also knows where the mistake was.”

“Chairman, I do understand that football is a business, and things happen in this game, and, as players, we are guided in our decisions by contracts that we get offered, which I’m sure you understand,” said Sithebe.

“Having said this, I thank you wholeheartedly for the chance that you have given me to play for the club under your leadership since you took over (from the previous owners). We have been like a family, and I enjoyed the time I spent with the club under your leadership. I thank you.”
