According to Unplayable, Matsatsantsa are keen on signing Sundowns left-wing-back Lyle Lakay before or on Thursday, 22 September 2022.
Lakay has had a stellar career at Sundowns since his arrival from Cape Town City in 2018, winning every domestic trophy on offer.

However, the rise of Aubrey Modiba coupled with the acquisition of Terrence Mashego from Cape Town City could see him relegated to the stands.
And this despite Lakay’s ability to play high-up the midfield on the left-hand side of the pitch.

For those reasons, Gavin Hunt is reported to be looking to bring him on board for the current season although it’s unclear whether on loan or permanently.

Matsatsantsa also got three players from Sundowns in goalkeeper Ricardo Goss, midfielder Grant Magerman and attacker Thabang Sibanyoni who are all on loan.

Should the reports prove true and Lakay agree to the move, he would have completed a circle as he started his professional career at SuperSport United 13 years ago.
Lakay, 31, has featured in 162 competitive matches for Sundowns, and he has scored 13 goals while providing 26 assists.
