Syria calls for probe into killings targetting Alawite minority group
Syrian government forces and their allies were responsible for the killing of 830 civilians of the Alawite minority community, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Sunday. The Syrian presidency said that an “independent committee” had been formed to investigate the attacks on Alawites, a group to which Syria's deposed leader Bashar al-Assad belongs.
