This new ALDI Sundae Shoppe offering is my family's current obsession. Both flavors are so delicious.

My husband and son are ice cream aficionados, or as I call them, ice cream fiends. And the two of them are especially big fans of all the delectable Sundae Shoppe treats I find at ALDI.

The two of them were absolutely delighted by my latest find at ALDI: Sundae Shoppe Gelato Bites.

What I Love About ALDI's Sundae Shoppe Gelato Bites

These beautiful babies come 10 to a package, and they cost $3.99. Each package is one serving. Or, if you are a teenage boy, two packages count as one serving.

And, oh, are they good! There are two flavors: cookie dough and toffee. My husband, son, and I all prefer the cookie dough, but my son’s gymnastics buddies Riley and Aiden said they prefer the toffee. Clearly, you can't go wrong.

The cookie dough flavor is made with vanilla gelato, dotted with bits of cookie dough, and enrobed in milk chocolaty goodness. The toffee bites contain a vanilla and toffee-flavored gelato that is enrobed in milk chocolate and topped with a biscuit crumble.

Both flavors are so delicious—it’s easy to see why ALDI labeled the packages as a single serving because it’s hard to stop at just one or two bites. Each bite offers a little bit of gelato bliss.

How My Family Enjoys ALDI's Gelato Bites

The bites are fantastic by themselves as a snack or dessert, but if you’re in the mood to go over the top, simply put a half to a full package in a bowl, top with hot fudge, whipped cream, and cookie pieces, and you will go into sugar overload. I’m not saying who tried this in my house, but I can confirm that it’s a delicious mess of a dessert.

The only caveat is that you either have to eat them right away—which my son did on one trip home from ALDI—or place them in a freezer bag to transport them and put them in your freezer as soon as possible. In hot weather, even with the air conditioning on in the car, they will melt if you don’t transport them properly.

Because they come in a resealable bag, they’re easy to open and eat if you’re snacking on the go, which my son appreciates. He said they were perfectly portable and that you don’t have to worry about them melting if you eat them right away.
