This $9.99 ALDI Find Is a Copycat of a $200 Williams Sonoma Product
This "stunning" ALDI find is flying off the shelves and into my cart.
My family lives for a good snack plate—there's something about arranging food on a gorgeous wooden platter that makes it feel extra special, especially for my kids. I own a couple of wooden serving boards, and they make our platters, brunch boards, and any old snack plate look fancy.
So when I spotted the Crofton Acacia Wood Boards at ALDI for just $9.99, I needed to share the news. These stunning boards are comparable to higher-end versions at places like Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and Crate & Barrel but at a fraction of the price. (I mean, $200 for a wooden cheese board is wild, don't you think?)
What I Love About ALDI's Crofton Acacia Wood Boards
ALDI is currently selling three different styles of boards to suit a bunch of serving needs: a large rectangular board with a handle, a medium oval board with ridges, and a set of two smaller round boards, also with handles. All are made from durable acacia wood, known for its beautiful grain and longevity.
At just $9.99 each, you could snag the whole set for less than the cost of a single board from one of the higher-end retailers, but I particularly recommend the rectangular and round boards. Imagine making your kids individual snack plates or DIY pizzas on these round guys—I can't even!
Why I Love My Wooden Boards
- They're versatile. I own a similarly sized rectangular board that has become my go-to for everything from pizza movie night to weeknight snack-for-dinner plates and weekend brunch spreads. It's perfect for serving up homemade or store-bought pizza, arranging appetizers and snacks, or even as a rustic backdrop for food photos.
- They offer double duty as decor. When not in use, my board finds a home on my dining room shelf, adding a touch of warmth to the space. It's a piece of functional decor that's always ready for impromptu gatherings.
- They make any day feel like a celebration. We all need more small celebrations in our lives—easy things that make every day feel special. I love making breakfast boards for my family on an occasional weekend, where I surprise them with what's on the board.
How I Use My Wooden Serving Boards
We've done waffle (or pancake or french toast) boards that include fresh fruit, maple syrup, bacon or sausage, Greek yogurt, and other favorite toppings. Breakfast taco boards with scrambled eggs, salsa, guacamole, refried beans, cheese, grilled or roasted peppers, and fresh tortillas are always a huge hit.
Sandwich boards are the ones everybody flocks to the quickest because it's a fun and tasty DIY stacking situation. And every Father's Day I use the board to create the most incredible homemade bagel and lox spread. Yes, I could serve all of this on plates, ceramic platters (which I also like), cutting boards, or in the meal-prep containers everything is stored in, but I love the rustic yet elevated, family-style vibe this sets for a special (or special feeling) day.
With their sturdy construction and easy care (just hand wash and occasionally oil), these boards are built to last and have become some of my most-used kitchen items. Whether you're a seasoned host or want day-to-day life to feel special, nice serving boards are an easy win.
Although you'll see beautiful boards at every home goods store, these particular boards are worth paying attention to. They're beautiful, versatile, and so affordable that they'll disappear from ALDI's shelves in no time, but rest assured, they'll be a long-lasting addition to your kitchen.
