The US D-Day veteran still hoisting the French flag

On the 6th June 1944, over 4,000 allied soldiers lost their lives on the beaches of northern France during the Normandy landings, 2,500 of them Americans. The 80th anniversary commemorations of the landings are taking place this Thursday on Omaha beach. One of the surviving American soldiers who took part in the invasion was Jake Larson. Our colleagues at France 2 went to meet him.
