Samuel Meyer was an armourer in the US 9th Air Force. his job to resupply P38 aircraft with bombs and ammunition. After the war he returned to New Orleans, where he took over the family hat shop. It was there that he met Marcelle, a young French woman and daughter of a resistance fighter who had come to work in the United States. Marcelle and Samuel Meyer are in Normandy on the 6th of June to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, and the shared history that links the United States and France.
