‘They haven’t accomplished anything’ – Ex-Chiefs striker not convinced
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Shane McGregor says Amakhosi must win the Nedbank Cup or they will be back to square one.

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Shane McGregor says Amakhosi need to win the Nedbank Cup to consider this season a success.
The 61-year-old believes the current Amakhosi team is not good enough to be competing for top honours. McGregor feels the management needs to add more quality to the team for next season if they want to be competitive.
On Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs surprised Mamelodi Sundowns by edging them out 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup semi-final and the former SuperSport United striker feels the team has been disappointing.
“It’s a good result for Chiefs. They have been struggling and not performing well this season, but they managed to reach the final,” McGregor told KickOff.
“If reaching the final is enough to make the supporters happy, then so be it. However, I’ll consider the entire season. It has been disappointing, and that doesn’t change the fact that it’s been a bad year.”

Chiefs are playing their first domestic final in six years and will need to overcome rivals Orlando Pirates.
“They must win the Nedbank Cup. If they don’t, they’ll be back to square one. They haven’t accomplished much this year or in recent years,” McGregor added.
“While reaching a cup final is an achievement, they need to think about the future. Can this team take them to greater heights? They need to bring in quality players because the current squad is not good enough,” said the former Chiefs striker.
Can Chiefs end their trophy drought or will Pirates once again win another final?
