This $6.49 ALDI Freezer Find Is All My Family Ever Wants
My latest favorite ALDI find comes in a BIG bag and feeds a crowd. My son loves them in his lunchbox, but they also make a perfect after-school snack or appetizer.
My family eats so many Mama Cozzi products that I feel like she should be at least a distant cousin. I can hardly walk by the deli section at ALDI without picking up a pizza or flatbread, and I just discovered a new go-to in the frozen section: Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Snacks.
What’s I Love About Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Snacks
Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Snacks come in a BIG 45-ounce bag of pepperoni-filled bites, and they cost about $6.49. There are 15 servings per bag for normal people, and about half that for my teenage son. Add his friends to the mix, and you’ve got just enough to feed all of them.
The pizza snacks are like itty bitty calzones. The best way to cook them is to spritz them lightly with oil, then pop them in an air fryer for about five minutes. They come out golden and crispy on the outside, oozy and gooey on the inside, and studded with lots of pepperoni bits.
You can also bake them in your oven at 450°F for 10 minutes, or microwave them for about two minutes.
How I Make Mama Cozzi's Pizza Snacks
I’ll be honest—I mostly pop a bunch on a plate and stick them in the microwave. They make a perfect lunch if you stick them in a thermos.
My son has hated every single hot school lunch he's been served, so I have to come up with lunches he will actually eat and that has enough fuel for his brain. He loves pizza—which you might already know if you’ve read my other stories—and if he can’t have pizza from scratch or our favorite pizzeria, he adores Mama Cozzi’s various offerings.
Until recently, I hadn’t figured out a way to send pizza to school with him and keep it nice and hot. That is until Mama Cozzi’s pizza snacks (and my trusty thermos) came to the rescue!
Besides school lunches, these delicious little pizza pillows also make great appetizers and after-school snacks. For an upgrade, you can serve them with a small bowl of marinara for dipping.
If you want to be really extravagant, turn them into pizza nachos: air fry them or bake them, then top with shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, warmed pizza sauce, and your favorite pizza toppings. Put them back in the air fryer or oven for a few more minutes to melt the cheese.
It makes a bit of a mess, but put a tray of Mama Cozzi pizza snack nachos in front of a bunch of hungry teenage athletes and watch the entire thing disappear in minutes.
